SMUD Charge@Home Incentive Program »
SMUD’s Charge@Home program offers rebates to help cover the costs of EV charging equipment and installation.*
- Customers can receive up to $100 for a qualifying Level 2 charger.
- Customers can receive up to $200 for a circuit-sharing or energy management device.
- Customers can receive up to $500 toward professional installation by a SMUD-approved contractor.
Income-qualified customers enrolled in SMUD’s Energy Assistance Program Rate (EAPR) may be eligible for additional rebates, including a free charger and installation.**
*Based on funding availability. **Tesla Wall Connectors don’t currently meet SMUD’s spec, though Tesla owners can use a qualifying charger with an adapter.
SMUD Battery Rebate (My Energy Optimizer® Partner+) »
SMUD now offers a one-time enrollment incentive up to $10,000 per household when you enroll your new home battery in My Energy Optimizer Partner+ within 90 days of Permission to Operate (PTO). The incentive is $500 per kWh minus a 20% holdback, capped at $10,000.
Heat Pumps (HVAC) »
Get up to $2,500 back on qualifying multi-stage or variable-speed heat pump systems installed by a SMUD Contractor Network pro. We confirm eligibility and handle the paperwork. Learn more »
Heat Pump Water Heaters »
SMUD offers up to $3,000 for qualifying Tier III/IV heat pump water heaters installed with a mixing valve, and these can pair with a federal tax credit up to $2,000. We’ll make sure you get every dollar. Learn more »
Go Electric Bonus Package »
After your qualifying heat pump or HPWH install, SMUD can help with “electric-ready” upgrades: up to $2,000 total ($500 per eligible circuit and up to $500 toward panel work) when converting from gas to electric. We coordinate it end to end. Learn more »
